The perfect camera?
After spending almost a year with the Fuji X100VI, I can confidently say this camera is an absolute joy to use and travel with. It’s compact, lightweight, and incredibly easy to pack, making it the perfect companion for any adventure. Unlike bulky DSLRs or even some mirrorless setups, the X100VI is discreet and unobtrusive—ideal for capturing candid moments without drawing attention. Yet, it is incredibly powerful and can help you craft beautiful images.
I have owned different versions of the Fuji X100 since its early days. While I liked some of them, the early versions were quite quirky. Over the years, Fuji has refined the X100 series significantly, and the X100VI feels like the most polished version yet.
Image quality
One of the standout upgrades in the X100VI is the new 40MP sensor. The level of detail and clarity it delivers is simply breathtaking. Whether I’m shooting landscapes, street photography, or portraits, the images are crisp, vibrant, and full of life. The added in-body image stabilization (IBIS) is a game-changer, especially for handheld shots in low light. It provides an extra layer of confidence when shooting on the go, ensuring sharper images in a variety of conditions.

Autofocus
Fuji has also refined the autofocus system, and it now works amazingly well. This used to be one of the key issues with the older versions, but with the X100VI, focusing is fast, accurate, and reliable, even in challenging lighting conditions. Whether capturing moving subjects or shooting in dimly lit environments, the improved autofocus makes a noticeable difference.

Other considerations
Another feature I’ve come to love is the built-in ND filter. I actually use it quite often, particularly when shooting in bright environments or wanting to achieve that smooth, cinematic motion blur in videos. It’s incredibly convenient not having to carry external ND filters, which adds to the overall portability of this camera.
The flash also comes in quite handy in many situations. I use the camera when I travel for work and with friends, and it’s great for getting snapshots when light is low. The built-in flash provides just the right amount of fill light without being too harsh, making it a valuable tool in dimly lit environments.

Would I purchase it again?
Compared to its predecessor, the X100VI feels like a major step up. The refinements Fuji has made, from image quality to stabilization and usability, make a significant difference in real-world shooting. If you’re considering a camera for travel or everyday photography, the X100VI is hands down one of the best options out there. It’s small, powerful, and just an absolute pleasure to use.
The X100VI is simply a gorgeous piece of photographic equipment. People love touching it. I love using it. It is a master of disguise—people often ask me why I am shooting with an old camera.
